Vocaloid: A Singing Software

Vocaloid is a software that can produce singing by input the tone and lyrics, it helps those talented but not famous composer to complete their songs with a synthetic voice, since they may not have enough money to find a singer. Thus, the software actually doesn't need a image, but somehow Yamaha, the inventor of the software, decided to create a character for each sound samples, and that'show Hatsune Miku and other figures came out and that's why many people misunderstand that vocaloids are animate characters.
Hatsune Miku(初音未來)

The first time I heard a vocaloid song was at my age of 14, and I have been loved with it from then on. At the beginning, I didn't know the song was not sing by human, but I did think the voice was quite different. This is the song that lead me to the gate of vocaloid.

This song is called Six Trillion Years and Overnight Story(六兆年と一夜物語) and it is composed by KEMU, the reason why I upload it without images is because I want you to have the same feeling as I did. I have to admit that it is not the best song I have ever heard, but it is still a good one, though.

Now you have learn more about vocaloids and thanks for reading them. This may not accept by everyone but I would be very happy if you can consider them as a singer. The viedo below is my favorite song, and how the concert look like.(I have been to the concert once last year)

    Since that Vocaloid is a singing software, does it mean that Hatsune Miku, which was produced by the software, is not a real person? In addition, I think that the voice of Hatsune Miku is awesome. I enjoy listening to her songs a lot!

      Is she a person or not isn't that important, all we have to know is that Miku is awesome!!!!!!!!!

    I used to like vocaloid very much when I was in junior high school. At that time, opening my laptop and listening to vocaloid's music was part of my life. I also watched some nico singers cover vocaloid's songs in a brilliant way. Your article reminded me of my happy past time, and you really wrote a good introduction for vocaloid.
